I was born in Fresno, California, into poverty and a home marked by alcoholism and abuse. At eight years old, I was introduced to drugs and alcohol — a temporary escape that eventually became a destructive crutch. Those early experiences left me angry, isolated, and disconnected from the people I loved.
On January 7, 1989, desperate for change, I walked into a 12-Step meeting and began my recovery. I surrounded myself with a strong support network that helped me rebuild my life. I moved to Los Angeles, thrived in university, launched my own company, and trained and developed hundreds of people in business using the same principles that supported my own recovery: accountability, compassion, and growth.
Over the past 25 years, I have coached thousands of individuals, couples, families, and teams from all walks of life. I have facilitated interventions, guided clients into treatment, collaborated with industry leaders in addiction, psychology, and psychiatry, and supported people at every stage of crisis and recovery — from private jets to skid row. I believe no one is disposable, and everyone deserves the chance to heal.
My own journey continues. I have completed intensive trauma therapy, remain active in recovery and mental-health programs, and stay committed to doing my inner work so I can better support others. Today, I am proud to be a father, a husband, and a man my loved ones have never seen drink or use. The world is no longer an adversary to me. What remains is someone who values connection, service, and the belief that healing is always possible.
